If your organisation or group is working for the health of the environment, we want to say a massive thank you! We’re on the same team.

You may not be aware but Australia is part of the UN Decade of the Ocean. Included in this are substantial targets to improve everyone’s understanding of how the ocean works and ultimately how and why it affects us. The new widely accepted term to describe this is ‘Ocean Literacy’.

At Oceans IQ we’re working with key stakeholders to build an online platform for Ocean Literacy in Victoria and we’d like you to be a part of it.

The aim of the Ocean Literacy Portal is to provide a central location to share resources and knowledge that will help to:

• Develop a greater understanding of the ocean (ocean literacy) and conservation action in our communities;
• Increase confidence and participation in educating about the ocean;
• Consolidate and share ocean literacy resources and activities; and
• Build a searchable library to promote your organisation/services/resources.

If your organisation includes some explanation of how the ocean works, we would be happy to promote you to the public through our website. To do this we need to get a good idea of what your service is.
