About
Jody is a foreign-born Aussie who loves the ocean and believes it is vitally important.
She wants every Australian child to learn about the amazing marine environment
around them. She has done many things to make this happen, such as:
- Writing programs and delivering to over 15,000 people.
Creating activities, leading workshops and organising conferences for marine
education. - Serving as Secretariat for MESA and as a Life Member of the Gould League.
Administering grants and programs for marine environmental protection.
Presenting at Monash Universities gifted students’ program and getting the
Melbourne Aquarium onto Victoria’s Agenda 21. - Acting as Western Pacific Basin Coordinator for One Ocean Marine Forum
which led to the formation of IPMEN.
Working as Education Officer for AUSMEPA and coordinating a project in the
Torres Strait. - Coordinating the development of the indigenous Land and Sea Ranger’s guide
and working with many groups and people.
Jody is a great team member of the Oceans IQ project that is making the Ocean
Literacy Portal, a library of resources for ocean education.
