Marine Care Point Cooke (MCPC) is a community‐based “friends’ group” whose central aim is the conservation and promotion of the environmental and biodiversity values of Point Cooke Marine Sanctuary (PCMS) for the ongoing benefit of current and future generations. The Balcombe Estuary Reserves Group Mt Martha is a friends group formed to preserve and restore the unique ecology of the Balcombe Estuary and Reserves. We remove weeds, plant indigenous species, monitor water quality, tackle drainage and sedimentation issues, engage schools and universities, conduct community education, talk to local groups, lobby government and much more.
