Using a state-of-the-art marine research facility and the ecologically unique Solitary Islands as a backdrop, the National Marine Science Centre offers innovative field- and laboratory-based science activities for Primary and Secondary students. The primary aim of this kit is to provide a structured, curriculum-based education resource for primary school students that teaches them about the marine environment, marine protected areas, conservation values and management, the importance of near-shore habitats, and the sustainable use of these habitats and marine resources by traditional Aboriginal custodians through four modules.

This book provides educators with resources and activities to explore marine ecosystems with students, focusing on the complexity of marine habitats and the effects of human activity on these environments.
