Behind the News - What seems like a spike in shark attacks has some people worried about going for a swim in the sea. It's prompted politicians and experts to get together and discuss solutions.

The National Geographic documentary Shark Harbour follows marine biologists in Sydney Harbour as they study shark attacks to better understand and coexist with these predators.

Using a state-of-the-art marine research facility and the ecologically unique Solitary Islands as a backdrop, the National Marine Science Centre offers innovative field- and laboratory-based science activities for Primary and Secondary students. Working alongside enthusiastic scientists, students develop their scientific skills through hands-on, interactive, curriculum-based STEM activities. The SEA program is developed by our education staff to assist teachers in meeting the New South Wales Board of Studies/National Curriculum Key Learning Area outcomes.
